Technology

Part of our commitment to providing you with the highest quality and most comfortable orthodontic treatment is our ongoing training and investment in state-of-the-art technology and techniques. These new tools help us to be more precise and efficient, which means the best possible experience for you. Keep reading to learn more about some of the exciting new tools you may see in our office.

The iTero™ Scanner

The iTero™ Scanner is a state-of-the-art digital impression system that eliminates the need for messy putty in your mouth. With our scanner, we can digitally capture a detailed 3D model of your teeth and gums.

The handheld wand takes a digital, 3D photographic image of your teeth. The wand is non-invasive and you can breathe and swallow as needed during the procedure. If you need to move or adjust, you can do so – the accuracy is exceptional.

Using the scan of your teeth, we are able to plan your treatment, create aligners, retainers and night guards as needed to meet your specific needs.

3D Printing – Formlabs™ and SprintRay™

Our 3D printers allow us to use the information from the iTero™ Scanner to create a detailed and accurate model of your teeth and gums. With the printed model we can fabricate your retainer, in-house, to our exacting standards and provide a fast turnaround time. Additionally, if a retainer is ever lost or damaged, we can simply reprint your model and have another retainer made without the need to make an extra trip for another impression.

3D Radiographs – Vatech Green CT™

We are able to take conventional orthodontic radiographs such as panoramic or cephalometric radiographs as well as 3D radiographs using our ultra-low X-ray dose technology. The Cone Beam CT enables us to better visualize and treatment plan when the following conditions are present:

  • Impacted and supernumerary teeth
  • Root resorption evaluation
  • Placement of TADs
  • Visualization of TMJ structures if problems are suspected
  • Midpalatal suture maturation assessment
  • Surgical cases
